Honesty
I am ready to be honest.
The “READY” muscle of honesty is built one decision at a time, and becomes stronger as we use it.
Robert Frost’s poem, The Road Not Taken has a powerful message about the significance in the moment of wise decision-making, and how we treasure it, in hindsight.
We can help our children to be ready and armed with honesty when they come to their own crossroads. Helping them practice and decide what they ought to do before the situations arise.
A sweet little girl wrote me a beautiful note apologizing for writing on our CGA bathroom wall.
I was so impressed with her honesty and impressed with parents that would teach her how to apologize and make it right.
We can help our children be ready by teaching them values, rules, and consequences. We can acknowledge and bring their attention to the kinds of choices that point them in the direction we want them to go.
My heart is warmed by my little friend who had the courage to stand up and be honest.
