CGA 2026-2027 School Year News!

FOR our EPIC program students.

We are thrilled to share with you our exciting news! Canyon Grove Academy is growing and with that comes the ability for us to offer you more. So much has happened in just the last few months and we can finally share everything with our CGA family community!

We are opening an Arts Academy in Lehi and offering arts electives.

We are opening a campus in West Jordan and moving out of our South Jordan campus

We are changing the Innovations and Discovery programs.

CGA is building a new campus at 3046 W Maple Loop Drive in Lehi. This building will not just house Epic and Secondary students but will be the hub of our CGA Arts Academy! All epic students will have the option of choosing one of the options below for semester one and make a second choice for semester two. All elective programs are optional.

Choice 1: Expeditionary Learning (similar to what Discovery was) – This will be a semester-long elective that will take your child out into nature and the world around us to experience hands-on learning! Some of these activities could be fishing, paddleboarding, nature hikes, skating, pickle ball, snowshoeing, climbing walls, outdoor sports, etc. This will be a very experiential class for your child that will not be held on campus, but rather will be out and about.

Choice 2: STEM (similar to what Innovations was) plus one elective at the Arts Academy per semester. STEM will include 21st century technology experiences in the Smart Lab, exploring while learning in the Space Center and Planetarium, and excitement of farm participation through our Farm to Table experiential class that will be an interdisciplinary program connecting students to the food system through planting, pruning, gardening, nutrition/meal planning, cooking, and canning with project based activities in our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. It will also include time on the farm with the animals and taking care of them. Your child may also choose one elective from the Arts Academy which could include things like piano, dance, choir, art etc. (final class choices forthcoming).

Choice 3: This is a full Arts Academy elective where you can choose up to 3 arts electives per semester. As mentioned, these could range from the fine arts to group piano lessons, dance, choir, karate, theatre etc. We will be sending out a parent survey to finalize the most desired electives to launch the Arts Academy.

The bus will continue to run from South Jordan and Springville. Schedule to be determined.

The Arts Academy is specifically designed for families to build the schedule and electives that fit your child’s learning and passions. It is going to be AMAZING, and we look forward to parent input as we make final decisions of the year one electives being offered!

Additionally, we have more EXCITING news for our Salt Lake County families! CGA has also purchased a building in West Jordan that will be a permanent CGA campus. The new building is 16,000 square feet which is 8 times bigger than the current SJ location and sits on over 2 acres with lots of outdoor space for students! The new campus will begin renovation this summer and will be ready for use by CGA students in November 2026! We will start the year at the current SJ building, but will be moving quickly to our new permanent campus. The address for the new building is 8435 S 2700 W, West Jordan, Utah. It is centrally located and will be a very large hub for our Salt Lake County families!

We have loved doing the weekly lessons that they send home which include all the supplies that we could need for the various projects, last week we made god eyes and woven baskets, did science experiments and learned about weather.
Its so amazing to have an Education Specialist on call all the time, if i have a child struggling with a specific subject or I need to order some new curriculum really quick, they have always been very very helpful and always reply quickly.
The resource library is every moms dream, I can walk in and look at all subjects and talk to the librarian and she will help me decide what curriculum she recommends for our learning styles. We get additional science and craft kits, and tons of math games!!
Really the best distance program out there. And their campus is so amazing this year. I was blown away by the office that is basically a garden with fish and plants everywhere. Outside they have so many fun animals all by the fences so we can enjoy them even when they aren't participating in the farm class. Goats, bunnies, chickens, etc.

Canyon Grove Academy is the best of multiple worlds that is extremely flexible to provide just what we need and want for our kiddos! There are options from 0-5 days … read more attendance. We do distance learning which give us the option for 1 "on campus" day right in our area! (Don't let the pleasant grove address scare you!) They have campuses all over. Right now we are choosing to even do that day at home and they provide the funniest activities and family lessons for us to do at home -- they even send us all the materials! (So there is no "I know we had a straw and a rubber band somewhere..." going on!) The school also provides the curriculum I choose! And if you're clueless, there's help and support. You still get sped services too. And field trips and fun extracurriculars. Really, we're very happy. And so excited for class additions like farming and "manning" a spaceship! Highly recommend this school if you have curious, fun children who love adventures!
