Our Farm Mission
The Farm at Canyon Grove Academy offers our students and families a unique opportunity to engage in growing food, providing hands-on animal care, and finding joy in being self-sufficient. The experience of farm life provides the students with real world problems that provide applicable knowledge for life-long learning, accountability, and growth.
Our farm family includes a mini horse, mini jersey cattle, alpaca, goats, pigs, sheep, turkey, guinea, chickens, ducks, quail, rabbits, bees and red wiggler worms.
We grow indoors and outdoors in our aquaponics, hydroponics, aeroponics, geothermal greenhouse, microgreens, hügelkultur gardens, food forest, garden towers, bags and beds, as well as market style gardening. We want our families to see the multiple ways they can garden at home, so they can realize that being more self sufficient is attainable.
The practices and techniques that we use to farm include permaculture, soil food web, no dig and organic. We build a high quality compost utilizing the waste products from our animals and cafeteria.
Canyon Grove Farm is so much more than just the educational components of science, STEAM and health that the animals and gardens provide. The nurturing environment, creates a sense of peace that permeates the campus and enables true learning to take place.
